Classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30am to 2:30pm at Holy Nativity Orthodox Church. Tuesdays we begin with Matins and Thursday the students sing the Divine Liturgy.
St. Basil's is an ecclesiastical co-op with the days beginning with either Orthros or Divine Liturgy. The students study church history, church art, scripture memorization, Greek, church music, writing, and math. Extra-curricular classes are taught in the afternoon; drama, knitting, baseball, etiquette, life skills, first aid and more. Field Days and special events take place occasionally on Fridays.
A homeschool co-op is group of homeschool families that join to share in the education of their children. Homeschool co-ops offer classes for students and usually require parent participation. Parents are actively involved teaching classes, caring for younger children, or helping with cleaning or other tasks.
Fr. Jason Foster is the priest and pastor of Holy Nativity Orthodox Church. For the last two years Fr. Jason has taught Church history to the elementary and middle school students.
Holy Nativity has a wonderful relationship with Holy Nativity Monastery in Kemp, TX. Our students visit the monastery and sing the liturgy for our sisters.
St. Basil's students work hard and play hard! The kids take full advantage of any break by playing soccer, baseball or swinging in the playground.
